Dragonfly Hotel Colchester

Macy was a huge credit to the hotel. She seemed to be holding the place together on her own, checking guests in, sorting out problems and serving drinks, all professionally and courteously. My family and I stayed on 25th/26th April and were really impressed, especially for the price. The hotel was clean and tidy, with everything we needed. The food was mediocre, but the included breakfast was nice. We'd definitely stay again.

I stayed there for four months and found it lovely. The grounds were lovely too, and the staff were so friendly. Rooms were spacious and nice, and they were cleaned regularly.

The reception seating area was lovely and gave the place a country pub feel. It's on the outskirts of Colchester, and the rooms were clean and functional. Staff helped me arrange a taxi into town. Breakfast was fair, though mushrooms, tomatoes, hash browns and fried eggs would've been useful. One of our party of five can't eat scrambled eggs because of dairy intolerance and doesn't eat meat, so there wasn't much choice for them. The EV chargers were a nice touch. I could've charged there, but chose the Tesla chargers at Delta hotels a few miles away. Would I come back? Yes!

Sophie was brilliant at helping me arrange our special occasion. We had 14 rooms booked for family for my 30th wedding anniversary at the Colchester hotel, and the staff helped make it even more memorable. Mack and Jake behind the bar and young Maisie at breakfast were especially good, though all the staff were excellent. Thanks so much. I'd suggest getting in touch with these guys if you're looking for a venue for a special event. You won't find better.
