The Retreat

The place was dirty inside, and the traffic was noisy. I had to pull weeds because the outside looked such a mess. Some tea bags were two years out of date, half the solar lights were broken, and half the ornaments were broken too. The neighbours next door kept coughing non-stop, so it wasn’t relaxing. It needs a good paint job, and at that price I wouldn’t return.

It was a decent place and fairly clean, but being expected to leave it as we found it made me wonder whether it had been cleaned after the previous guests. There were loads of Buddha heads and ornaments, which I hated, and so many decorations that we had to move them to get a view of the beautiful moon setting in the morning.

The owners were very hospitable, and the accommodation was beautiful. It’s close enough to local conveniences but far enough away to feel removed from everything, which is nice if you want peace and quiet. My wife and I stayed here for her 30th birthday, and I’d highly recommend it.

I was here for business and would recommend it. Waze sent me to the turning after the one I needed, so I ended up going into the fruit factory and had some trouble finding the place. Once I got there, everything else was lovely.
