The breakfast was delightful, and the owners were really nice. I also appreciated having a kitchen with a fridge, microwave and kettle. The room itself was only okay, though. Wi-Fi was weak even near the router, so be aware if you need it. I found an old store purchase tag on the dresser and crumbs beneath the sheets at the foot of the bed. That made the place feel dirty and left me wondering about the cleaning, though maybe it was just this room. I didn't want to stay longer than one night.

There’s a lot of character here, with paintings, prints and furniture that give you a sense of the place’s history. We found the rooms clean and spacious, and the welcome was warm. On a rainy October day, we were glad to find somewhere at short notice while driving through Northern Ireland. Breezemount House is an easy walk from town, and it’s a nice budget spot for tired travellers. 😆😆😆

The place was rather unclean too. I found spiders in the light, as shown in the photo. The fire blanket was missing and took a week to replace. I stayed in November 2015, and the oil heating was off at first. After a few days it ran for just 30 minutes in the morning and evening. Two days later, when the owner joined the fire inspector for an inspection, he leaned back and felt a radiator that was only slightly warm. That was the last heat we got for about a week. When I asked about it, he told me to use the electric fire because oil was so expensive, even though the price had dropped to almost $40 a barrel at the time. He also said they monitored electricity and would charge me for overuse, but wouldn't say what counted as overuse. I found that odd, since the electric water heater also heated the dwelling below.

It’s cheap, and the staff are very friendly. But the accommodation is dated, the breakfast was shocking, and the Wi-Fi was broken. If you expect anything beyond the basics, you’ll be disappointed.

The bed was terrible, the food was poor and there was no Wi-Fi at all. Easily the worst place we stayed in Ireland.
