I had a great two-week stay and would’ve booked a third if Christmas wasn’t coming up. There’s loads of room, and the cottage is really clean and welcoming, a proper home from home. Jett and Misty, my two rescue greyhounds, loved the fields. Misty was wet and muddy when she jumped up at Mike, the owner, but he was very welcoming about it! I’m from rural West Wales, up in the mountains, but I love the views from the top of Biddulph Moor. It’s lovely being near my hometown of Leek and close to my mum, who was born on this very moor. Thanks, Mike, for such a wonderful stay in your beautiful cottage. It’s the best place I’ve stayed over all the years I’ve been coming back home to visit.

The sunsets were stunning once spring arrived and the weather turned better. Watching them from the window each evening became a highlight, and we’ll really miss that view. We stayed at Fern Cottage from early January until May 2026 after coming home from a Caribbean cruise to burst pipes and serious water damage in our house. We needed somewhere furnished to stay temporarily, and the cottage was just what we’d hoped for, and more. It was a huge relief to have somewhere comfortable and welcoming during such a stressful, upsetting time. The beds are very comfortable, the gardens are beautifully kept, and we really appreciated the cleaning every Friday. Mike, the owner, is friendly, approachable and available if you need him. Everything had been so thoughtfully arranged that we didn’t need to ask for anything. A heartfelt thank you to Mike and the Cleaning Team for making a difficult time much easier.
