The Congresbury Arms

Mitch and Ann were friendly and attentive, and didn’t rush us despite how busy it was. We had a delightful Sunday lunch and will certainly return soon. The crackling rolled pork belly was delicious, as was the homemade sticky toffee pudding. They brought extra custard when we asked, and my partner was particularly pleased with the wide range of GF options.

The bar had a lovely atmosphere, and the food was excellent for the price. I had a fantastic stay, with attentive staff and great service. The rooms are spacious, clean, and excellent value. They had a good choice of tea and coffee, including Yorkshire tea bags and Taylors coffee bags, plus local cheddar still and sparkling water. I’ll plan to stay here again when I’m travelling for business.

We’d never been to the Congresbury Arms before, but were visiting the area and stopped in for lunch. Everyone was impressed, from the warm welcome by a smiling staff member to the attractive dining room, comfortable seats, and excellent food. We all chose the two-course lunch for £20 and had the belly pork, which was really good, with dauphinoise potato and four other fresh vegetables. Two of us had cheesecake and one had apple crumble. Both desserts were attractively presented and delicious. There was also a good selection of draught beer and cider. The food was faultless and the service friendly. In warmer weather, the large garden would be a lovely place to sit. We wish this were our local pub. Highly recommended, and thanks to all the staff!

The Congresbury Arms was a last-minute change of plan, and we thought it was superb. My wife loved the trio of Somerset pork, especially the bonbon, while I really enjoyed the big, juicy, flavourful burger. It’s beautifully decorated and feels cosy and homely. The staff were friendly and attentive, and we never waited long for service. We’d definitely return if we’re in the area again.
