After staying here for work trips over several years, I still think it’s the best hotel for miles around. The staff are consistently friendly and helpful, and the food is always spot on. For those views, make sure you book a room at the front. They speak for themselves.

The walking routes around the hotel could use better lighting. I needed a torch to get to and from my work van. The hotel and room were clean and tidy, though, and I’d stay again. I didn’t try the food, but I’ve been assured it’s good 😉😉. Walking around Connell bridge is a lovely experience.

The room was perfectly fine, the staff were great, and we enjoyed breakfast. Only downside was a smell in the room that reminded me of an old person’s home.

The train station is right behind the hotel, so it’s easy to get to if you’re not driving, and the area is beautiful. We were there for a wedding, and our family rooms were spacious and clean, with our own decking, a corner bath and a living room. My partner broke his ankle, so we missed the speeches. When we got back from A&E, the hotel had made sure dinner was ready for us. The food was always scrumptious. There was a good choice of alcoholic drinks, though the whisky was a little expensive. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the staff were approachable and very accommodating. We’d highly recommend it and would come back.

Old character with a modern feel, and it felt beautifully done. The price was good for the quality. Superb views, great food, and lovely staff with family connections to the owners. 10/10
