The Woodhouse Arms

The managers are always welcoming and helpful, and the front-of-house team are so friendly. They're a young crew with big smiles and are a real asset to the business. I've not tried the rooms, though I can only assume the service and standards are just as high. Another lovely meal too: generous portions, nicely presented, and delicious. The kitchen gets it right every time. Well done to all of you. I always recommend this place to friends and family.

The staff are attentive and friendly, and the restaurant serves good-quality food. Breakfast is cooked to order with plenty of choice. The rooms have large, comfortable beds, en-suite bathrooms, kettles, and plenty of tea and coffee. You can ask at the bar for fresh milk. There are three rooms by the car park beside the pub and restaurant. We've stayed at the Woodhouse Arms around three times a year for the past eight years, as it's a convenient stop when travelling south to visit family. It's a welcoming pub in a pleasant village not far off the A1. We always enjoy staying overnight and would happily recommend it.

We stopped here for the second time, and I'd happily come back again. The pub and its setting are picturesque, the rooms are lovely, the food is great, and the staff are fabulous. See you next time.

A good place to break up a long drive. The food was really good, especially the steak, and the village atmosphere was lovely.
