The Folly had a bit of magic to it, rustic but still beautifully styled. I especially loved sitting on the boat seat beside the babbling brook with a book. We made good use of the pool and table tennis, too. Fingals was a handy base for trips to the beach and Dartmouth, as well as kayaking and boating in Totnes. The narrow country tracks took some getting used to, but that's rural driving. Friendly owners and fellow visitors made this a brilliant getaway for my partner and me. We were left to our own devices and found the place wonderfully peaceful. The Lower Mill was a lovely base for five nights, and I only wish we’d had two weeks. Fingals is a rare find, with Sheila and Richard as such lovely hosts. There are several unusual, beautiful buildings to choose from, plus a pool, sauna and gym. It felt like a luxurious holiday without being expensive. I can’t praise it enough, magical and superb. I hope we’ll return.

Rain didn’t put us off at all. The streams and nearby walks, friendly community, and good pubs and restaurants made it feel like a dream British break, with Dartmouth, Totnes and the UK’s best beaches only a short drive away. Fingals is just my kind of place: quirky cottage core, vintage faded grandeur, and Bloomsbury arts and crafts. I wish it were mine, though Sheila and Richard are absolutely deserving founders. Love this place ♥️

The gardens and artwork around Fingals were lovely, and we had a relaxing weekend in The Barn. It’s a warm, welcoming place with its own style and character. We enjoyed the pool, sauna and games room. Recommended!
