Premier Inn Coventry City Centre - Belgrade Plaza

I’ve had consistently good stays here. The room is always clean, the bed is comfortable enough and I sleep well. Staff are friendly without making a fuss, and there’s a bar that’s a good place to end the day. It’s a straightforward, reliable hotel and good value, so I’ll be back when I need a night in Coventry for work. It’s very central, an easy walk from the station, with pubs and restaurants just a few minutes away.

The location is great for the centre, but there’s no parking, despite what was advertised. It’s since closed. The room was clean and to a good standard, but the door didn’t lock. Staff weren’t very helpful with breakfast and didn’t explain that it wasn’t self-service, unlike the other Premier Inns I’ve stayed at. Having to wait to order and then wait for it to be cooked was a big letdown. We could easily have gone somewhere else.

This was the worst Premier Inn I’ve stayed at compared with others. The bathrooms had a musty smell, and there weren’t enough towels. The unlimited breakfast was only continental; for cooked breakfast we were hurried to order, and only one plate was offered. It wasn’t a buffet like at the other Premier Inns I’ve visited. The yoghurts were left uncovered in a serving bowl. I won’t be back soon.

The hotel’s in a great location, but the welcome could be better. Nobody offered to help when I was struggling with my luggage and the door. Check-in also felt rigid: arriving 30 to 60 minutes early meant I couldn’t get access unless I paid extra. That left the experience feeling unwelcoming and brought it down overall.
