Premier Inn Coventry East - Ansty

The beds were good as always and the room was okay, though there was a dip in the carpet. Breakfast was good, but only one person was serving, so things took longer. The pastries and muffins ran out, and the only yoghurt was strawberry. Small things, I know, but after a rough night they got to me. Check-in service wasn’t bad, but at checkout they just looked up from their phone call. We were a family of four and got one towel. That’s not a huge deal, but with two kids staying up late because it’s all novel, it was a pain. We paid for the ultra, or whatever it’s called, WiFi because the free one isn’t great and we needed to download films. Neither seemed much better: it connected, but there was no internet for most of the evening and night. It only started working in the morning, when most people seemed to have left. It’s a perfect work stopover, but for a family wanting a cheap overnight stay before the airport, I’d pay a bit more to avoid a Schitt's Creek Rosebud hotel.

We had a pleasant stay and would come back next time we’re in Coventry. The rooms were clean, the towels fresh and the double bed comfortable. Breakfast was good, and the kids ate free. The lady at reception was so friendly and helpful. The bar manager was also great and went out of his way to make us feel welcome, including giving our kids change several times for the pool table and grab-it machine.

The room was comfortable, clean and had a hot shower, just what you’d expect from a Premier Inn. The front desk staff were really friendly and helpful. The attached Brewers Fayre pub was clean, smart and good value. We enjoyed the delicious food and pleasant live music on Friday evening. We stayed one night after a great few days in Birmingham and will use this place again next time we’re in the area.

I stayed for a week while doing a training course around the corner. The double room was a little smaller than those in newer Inns, but perfectly adequate. Parking was very close, so there was no long walk to reception or my room. The adjoining Brewers Fayre had a good choice for breakfast and evening meals, always piping hot. Service was very good, and the staff were chatty and always smiling.
