Premier Inn Coventry East - M6 J2

Our daddy and daughter foodie tour of the UK got a real boost from the team here. Sophie and Charlie(from the pub next door) gave us the cheeriest welcome, along with another lovely lady whose name I didn’t catch. Sorry about that! They even opened the restaurant so we could borrow crockery and cutlery for an impromptu meal in our room. Those simple, thoughtful things made a big difference, and the customer service was friendly, supportive, and genuinely amazing. The rooms aren’t fancy or especially modern, but ours was clean, smelled lovely, and had fresh sheets. You can tell housekeeping takes pride in keeping the place spotless. We had a superb stay and would absolutely come back.

We only stopped for breakfast and didn’t stay at the hotel, but Alex’s service deserves a mention. He welcomed us with a friendly smile and manner, and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. I’ve spent over 20 years in customer service and was very impressed. Thank you, Alex. I hope your workplace appreciates and recognises all your hard work.

Breakfast in the adjacent building was excellent: cooked to order, fresh, hot, and made just the way I like my full English. It took longer than the buffet we’re used to at other Premier Inn locations, though. Charley, I believe her name was, was plainly overworked, taking orders and serving food while also restocking and trying to clear tables with a busy restaurant and no one else there. She kept smiling and was apologetic about things that weren’t her fault, even though not every guest seemed understanding. She was a lovely, hard-working young lady. 10/10 for her. Thanks to Premier Inn for the service during our stay. The hotel itself met my partner’s and my needs, though it needs considerable updating. The rooms were adequate, the beds comfortable, and reception staff friendly.

Breakfast was delicious and well cooked, and reception were friendly. The bathroom may have been old, but it worked well. The room was spacious and clean, though the old furniture, single uncomfortable chair, and ropey curtains made it feel a bit gaunt. The TV was laughably ancient, with a tiny 4:3 screen instead of the modern 16:9 shape. Dinner on the £16 deal was fairly poor, so it was a mixed bag.
