We’re now left without anywhere to stay for the Isle of Wight festival next year, and several thousands of pounds out of pocket. I booked this property and paid in full, believing the reservation was secured. After it was confirmed, the six adults in our group bought festival tickets. The owner then cancelled, saying the booking had been given to someone else who offered more money, effectively gazumping us. It’s been 14 days since the cancellation and we still haven’t received a refund. They haven’t answered our calls, emails or SMS messages.
