A relaxing place for a drink, with a cozy feel and friendly staff. The pub menu has a good range of classics, and the food tasted really fresh. We dropped in twice without booking and they found room for us to have drinks for a few hours each time. The atmosphere is fantastic, with a nice mix of locals and visitors, unlike many whisky bars nearby that seem to draw mostly tourists. Set in a really picturesque spot in Craigellechie, it’s a great pub and inn. The beer garden out back catches the sun in the late afternoon and evening. There’s a nice range of beers, all under £4.50, and the Guinness was poured beautifully. The whisky list is excellent, with plenty of choices, including bottles you won’t find elsewhere and some exclusive to the bar. The service is fantastic, and the staff clearly love whisky. A brilliant boozer and one of Scotland’s best whisky experiences.

The rooms were lovely, and the food menu was varied and well done. There’s also a top tier whisky selection, with tasting flights that are put together with real care. The owner, head bartender, and staff are amazing people. I’d highly recommend dropping in for a drink or a bite, or staying over.

A great place to stay, with a top whisky bar and a huge selection. The Japanese whisky range is the best I’ve seen outside Japan. Tatsuya is a great host and looks after the guests well. The staff work hard and are professional. At night, the bar fills with locals and people from all over.
