Audrey made me feel at home straight away, greeting me with a coffee. I loved my two nights at Colstoncraig, Crail. My room was lovely, with comfortable bedding and a great bed, and she treated me to a bowl of her delicious homemade soup. Over a view towards the Isle of May, she told me about her family history, including her dad being the last lighthouse keeper there. Her husband Alan was friendly and funny too. Breakfast was porridge with fresh strawberries, which I really enjoyed. I’ll book again.

Audrey and her husband looked after us with so much care. They shared local history and stories that made Crail feel alive, and Audrey even helped with lifts and travel plans. It felt like staying with family. Our room was spotless and comfortable, and breakfast was excellent, with cereal, yoghurt, a full Scottish breakfast, and plenty of tea and coffee. A wonderful stay.

Crail is an interesting place to explore, and the B&B was very good, with a pleasant woman running it. The accommodation was perfectly fine, and breakfast was lovely. It was nice to have a chance to chat with other guests. A couple of local food notes: the Golf Hotel in Crail has a good menu, while the fish and chip shop in Crail is closed Mondays and Tuesdays. For the Fife Coast Path towards Anstruther, be ready to scramble over rocks at the start, a bit like a mountain goat. It’s worth trying, and Anstruther has plenty of fish and chip shops.

We were in Crail for a couple of days while attending a wedding in Earlsferry, and Audrey and Alan made us feel right at home. They were so helpful as we got around the beautiful village. Our room was comfortable and had all we needed, and the home-cooked breakfast was fantastic. We’d gladly recommend this warm, welcoming B&B.

Audrey and her husband made our stay special, with kindness and care that went well beyond what we expected. I was in Crail with friends for another friend’s wedding, and Audrey ironed some of our clothes, drove us to the venue, arranged for her husband to take us to St Andrews the next day, and helped sort our onward travel from there. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and comfortable. Breakfast both mornings was delicious, with yoghurt, cereals, fresh fruit, orange juice, a full Scottish breakfast, and as much fresh tea, coffee, and toast as we wanted. Audrey also shared stories about her and her family’s life and adventures, which added a lot to the experience. Colstoncraig is a family-run BnB in or around Crail, and it’s clear how much love and dedication they put into it. If I return to Crail, it’ll be my first choice.
