Beacon Hall House

Julie and Jonathan made us feel like friends staying over, rather than guests at a B&B. Their home is stunning, and both of them were so accommodating. The rooms look just as they do in the pictures. Julie cooked a delicious breakfast and was happy to make anything we asked for. We’ll most certainly stay again.

Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had at a B&B, or even a hotel, and Julie’s cooking was a real highlight. We also had dinner there one night, and it was delicious. There are amazing restaurant options just a 10 minute drive away, too. Julie and Jonathan’s lovely home and garden were a pleasure to stay in, and their kindness and hospitality made a real impression on us. One of the easiest places I could recommend.

Julie is such a natural host, sweet and generous to the core. We were genuinely sad to leave, which says it all. Our three nights were comfortable, quiet and relaxing, with excellent breakfasts and delicious homemade bread. Julie’s dinner was perfect, and we were allowed to bring our own bottle. We stayed in Hebe, a large, bright room with fresh flowers, a comfortable bed and a huge ensuite with everything you need. The house has an interesting history and sits in glorious wooded countryside, with walks all around and a choice of nice pubs. Even in mid November, when many things were closed, there were still plenty of places to visit. We’ve stayed at many B&Bs all over the country, and this is one of the very best. Actually, I think it definitely is the best!

We came for the Easter break and loved how peaceful our room was, looking out over all that greenery. The fresh flowers, high quality bedding, White Company towels and homemade biscuits on arrival were lovely touches. There’s plenty to do nearby, from footpaths right on the doorstep to gardens, castles, country pubs and wineries. We even had a fun game of tennis on the property’s court, with rackets provided. Breakfast was a treat every morning: fresh fruit, jams, marmalade, bread, homemade cakes and muffins, local cheese, and Julie’s cooked breakfasts. My partner and I are both vegetarians, and she made us the tastiest breakfasts with fresh vegetables from her garden. I’d seen all the exceptional reviews and wasn’t sure the place could live up to them, but Beacon Hall House exceeded our expectations. It’s by far the best B&B and one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. Thanks, Julie, for spoiling us and for taking such care of your guests. We hope to come back!
