Loch Lomond Apartments

We left early in the morning because we couldn’t wait to get out. The hall smelled overwhelmingly of weed, the lobby was filthy, and its front door was rotten with a huge hole. In the room, the shower was dirty and full of mould, so I used half a bottle of bleach to clean it. The bed looked so dirty that we slept on our camping beds, even though we’d been camping in the Highlands before arriving. Linen was coming apart, pillowcases were threadbare, blinds were broken, and curtains were falling down. Never again.

The cost was very high for what we got, which made an already unpleasant stay worse. The street looked run down, and the entrance hall felt like the Soviet era. There wasn’t even an apartment number on the door. Inside was only a little better: dirty carpet and sofa, a queen bed pushed against the wall so one person had to climb over the other to get out, a living-room downlight that kept flashing, and a shower screen that leaked. Not enjoyable.

The bed was comfortable, but the bedding and pillows need replacing. We booked for two adults and a child at short notice for a family funeral, and there was no extra bed. We had just one hand towel and one small bath towel to share. There was a dirty mug with spoiled milk and hard sugar sachets, no coffee, used toiletries, and not even a fresh toilet roll. The shower and toilet were dirty, and the whole place needs a bleach. The room was grubby, dated, and dirty when we finally got in. If I could have stayed anywhere else, I would have. This place needs to be looked into environmentally.

The host who greeted us was lovely and helpful, and the room itself was nice. But it wasn’t what the listing promised: it said apartments, while what you get is a basic room and bathroom. The entryway was dirty and smelly, which really let the place down, and the room could have been cleaner too. I don’t think it was worth what I paid.
