I slept really comfortably. The room was just the right size, with its own bathroom and tea and coffee facilities. The staff were so friendly and helpful.

I got home the next day after a good night's sleep, but that night I was grateful to find the Stokesay Inn. After six long hours in the car, a snowstorm left me unable to finish my journey. It was 10pm on a Thursday in January, and the woman who welcomed me in from the snowy streets cut the room rate in half because of the conditions. Four of us had been stranded and stayed there, and she and the barman, I don't know if they were joint owners, were incredibly accommodating. They provided food for free and were so hospitable. The room was large, spotless and had an en suite, though it's the welcome that says the most about the place. When demand spikes, companies like Uber bring in surge pricing. Stokesay Inn did the opposite, and I'm hugely grateful. I couldn't have asked for a better place to be stranded. Thank you, Stokesay Inn!

The pub seemed friendly, but £130 was a lot for what the room offered. We stayed in December and there was no heating, so luckily we had blankets in the car. We had booked and paid for breakfast at 0800, but nobody seemed to be cooking it. We had to go somewhere else and pay again. The pub itself is fine, but for goodness' sake, don't stay here!

We only stopped at the Stokesay Inn for a quick drink and snack during a Shropshire getaway, before walking back to our campsite, so I can't comment on the rooms. The menu that day was just pork baps and roast potatoes. We didn't want a full meal, and the lovely man behind the bar was happy to bring us a portion of roasties. They were hot, fresh and genuinely the nicest roast potatoes I've had in a while. We also had two ciders and two soft drinks, all at reasonable prices. It was lovely sitting outside in the glorious sunshine before the weather turned. It wasn't busy, though it could have been busier since it was still early in the day.

We stayed overnight while visiting relatives. It's a lovely little pub and B&B, and our room had everything we needed, so no complaints. Breakfast was included and was perfect. I'd definitely recommend it.
