Novotel London Greenwich

We paid £30 for a 3pm late checkout, which meant we could come and go that day without dragging our luggage around Greenwich. Breakfast, which we also paid for, was nice. We stayed one night in the suite. The day room looked towards Greenwich park, while the bedroom had views of the park and Naval College. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. We had to ask for the sofa bed to be made up, though a supply of linen could have been left out. The request was dealt with promptly. The air conditioning stayed warm even when set to “0”. We'd stay again.

Greenwich station is right beside the hotel, and Sainsbury is a three-minute walk away. Parking is available for £25 per day. Breakfast had an okay selection, and the restaurant staff were friendly and attentive. The room was really stuffy because the air conditioning wasn't working. Reception sent a technician, but it still didn't work. Even with a standing fan provided, the room stayed warm and stuffy. Housekeeping was disappointing too: they emptied the bins and changed the towels, but didn't make the bed or clear the tissues and dust and rubbish from the floor. I expected better from a brand like Novotel.

The staff were friendly at check-in, checkout, and breakfast. The rooms, though, are dated and need some TLC. There were stained carpets and soft furnishings, scuffed walls, and some mold in the shower. It doesn't feel like a four-star place to me. The location is very convenient, next to the DLR and Southeastern rail station.

Getting around London was easy, with Greenwich Station right next door. My room was quiet, clean and comfortable, and had everything I needed. Check-in went smoothly, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I also liked having a good range at breakfast and a restaurant on site for dinner after a long day. I had a very pleasant stay at Novotel London Greenwich.
