Ibis Styles London Gatwick Airport

For my morning flight, I stayed one night and really liked the hotel. It's about five minutes away by bus, and the soundproofing was great. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious, and the staff friendly and attentive. I also loved the big TV screen, with YouTube and Netflix to watch all night. Great value for money, I'd happily stay again.

The breakfast was tasty, had lots of choices and was good value. At check-in they offered me a special promotional price for it, cheaper than the walk-in price the next day, so I took it. I was travelling home to Kuala Lumpur via Turkish Airline. Check-in was quick and easy, and the front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. The clean, modern room was functional and comfortable. The heater worked well when the temperature dropped to 4 degrees Celsius, even though it was late spring moving into summer. Gatwick Airport is a short distance away, and the United Shuttle Service picked us up at the entrance for just 5£ per person. Very convenient, highly recommended.

The hotel's parking spaces are very small, so getting my larger car in was a squeeze and a bit of a faff, though manageable with patience. That little issue didn't outweigh the rest, and I'm still giving it five stars. I had a short overnight stop after a long evening drive before a morning flight. The Gatwick parking package was reasonably priced, with a small extra charge for parking on arrival. The location was excellent, just a few minutes' drive from Long Term Parking South in the early hours. I was welcomed and looked after well, and the room was very nice.

The outdoor seating and dining area was fantastic, and I made some good memories there. On my weeklong work stay, the evening food was pleasant, the burgers were great, and the 24/7 pizzas came in clutch a few nights. Annete, if I've got the spelling right, was especially lovely. The service was impeccable, she sorted everything I needed, and we got along well. The rooms were good for what they are, but I found them stuffy at night because the windows couldn't be opened and the AC only goes down to 19 degrees. The road outside can be busy and loud, though you can't notice it in the room. A very pleasant stay, and I look forward to coming back in a few months.
