Maple Manor Hotel

We stayed for one night. The staff were nice, the hotel was pleasant and breakfast was okay, but the airport noise was awful. It’s right behind the fence, and there seemed to be a plane every minute. Quite an experience, but I’d never stay again.

A staff member, possibly a Romanian woman, whose name started with K or C, turned what could have been a good stay into a terrible experience. I asked her name, and she demanded to know mine. I told her my room number and she checked it. As I walked away, she seemed to say a lot in her own language. At checkout, I asked what she’d said, but she claimed she’d only been asking who I was. That didn’t make sense to me, since we’d already had that exchange. We went outside to wait for our Uber to end the argument. While we waited, she came out and started another confrontation, shouting that she could have me charged for supposedly recording the conversation. I kept saying, “Have a good morning,” because I didn’t want to engage with her disrespectful behaviour any further. Then she complained to Booking dot com that we had been disrespectful. It felt like completely abnormal behaviour; she just wouldn’t let it go. We travel a lot and have used Booking more than a hundred times. After hearing our side, they said they’d look into the matter further.

We needed somewhere quiet to rest before another long day of travel, and this place was just right. It’s better suited to people with cars since it isn’t close to town, though it’s about a 15-minute taxi ride to the airport. The staff were lovely and helpful, and the motel was beautiful. Breakfast was hearty, and they booked us an early taxi and packed breakfast to take with us. ❤️

The location, hotel and staff were all wonderful. This is all you need, so forget the chains. Thanks, maple manor! Until next time.
