Travelodge Crawley

We spent one night at Crawley Travelloge. At about 11:15 pm on 01st March 2026, we bought two bottles of fruit drinks and some tea bags at the bar, then sat there to rest. I accidentally spilled a little of one drink on the floor and politely apologised to a staff member who looked middle-aged. He said it was completely fine and they would clean it up. A few minutes later, a bearded staff member who looked about 45 came over with tissues. He stared at us angrily while wiping the floor. We apologised again, and he told us, “Next time I will charge you.” That surprised us, so we asked whether we should pay. We asked three times and got no answer. On the fourth time he snapped, “No,” then walked away. We were really disappointed and couldn’t understand why he was so agitated with us. He was polite to the other customers, but we felt he treated us differently because we’re from another country. That felt disrespectful to customers from different countries. We’re still willing to pay if necessary, but his manner came across as arrogant. We’ve stayed at Travelloge in many places and areas, and this was our first bad experience. We’ll think carefully before booking Crawley Travelloge again.
