The room was compact but cleverly laid out, with hooks and storage wherever I needed them. It was spotless and so quiet that I found myself keeping my own voice down. My raised single bed was comfortable, though it may not suit someone with mobility issues. I liked the pink lighting too, which worked nicely as a gentle night light. The shower had strong pressure, a waterfall head, and properly hot water. The provided shampoo and shower gel smelled lovely. It was a little chilly when I arrived, but just right for sleeping. The only small annoyance was the TV: the background sounds and laughter came through much louder than the speech. I had a friendly welcome at check-in from a very smiley, helpful man whose name I think was Nathe, or something close. He answered all my questions. No hot drink was offered, though I didn't want one and might not have known that was a thing without reading other reviews. The person on reception at 4am checkout was polite as well. Finding the entrance from the train station was the hard part. A Google photo of the lifts going down to the hotel helped, but I still needed airport staff to point me the right way. It's next to the Pret. The lift only goes down, and reception is on the left when you get out. I paid £81 after booking a week ahead, which seemed fair for an airport hotel. I was travelling alone, and would stay again. Couples should be fine too if they book a double.
With my international flight leaving at 6AM, staying at YotelAir Gatwick made the morning much easier. It's on Floor 0 of Gatwick South Terminal, which was very convenient. I've used other Yotels before, so I knew what to expect: a cabin with what you need for a restful night, plus charging ports for working and WiFi. I enjoyed my stay.
After an overnight flight, we unexpectedly found this place as we came out of arrivals and had five hours to wait for our connection. We were checked in and in the room within minutes, then got three hours of sleep. The kids were happy. Clean room, clever mirrors that made it feel bigger, and great lighting. Amazing!
The location is the only thing that kept this from getting one star. These basic cabins are tiny, and with no air conditioning they get pretty unbearable. I had to deal with three different staff members, and the service from all of them was atrocious. Do yourself a favour and book a proper hotel instead of this abomination, whatever they're calling it, a cabin or a pod.
The room was clean and tidy, and the bed was comfortable. It's compact but adequate for a night, and the location is very convenient for anyone using Gatwick Airport's south terminal. From the arrivals hall it's about a five minute walk or lift ride. Shops, restaurants, and transport into London and beyond are close by. I stayed after a long flight from Cape Town. There are no windows, so it may not suit you if you suffer from claustrophobia. I thought it was excellent value and very handy for travelling.
