UPDATE: this pub closed in May 2023. From my earlier visit, it had a nice atmosphere and the food was better than average for a pub. The Sunday roast chicken and roast beef were both generous portions, and the pork loin came with mash, a roast carrot and red cabbage. They served Earl Soham and an Adnam’s, though I never knew it as much of a drinking pub. The little internal village shop has since disappeared. There were new owners at the time, though I heard they might be leaving soon.
