This is an old English farmhouse turned B&B, with a quirky feel and hosts who were wonderfully friendly. There were lots of extras I don't usually see at this price, and breakfast was freshly made each morning. The views are mostly of fields, and the location is handy, 3 miles from Crewe and 5 miles from the M6. The bedroom door didn't fit properly, so you could see through the gap, and sound carried easily. Still, it was quiet from 10:30 until 6:00, so I slept well.

Breakfast was just what I needed after a heavy night, and it was nice meeting the other guests around the big dining table. It felt more like staying with family than in a hotel. The room had everything we needed, including an iron, a local area guide, face cloths and even a kitkat. Lovely B&B!

The lounge needs updating, the sofas are in very poor condition, and the room was cold. A grandfather clock also kept us awake. When we wanted to eat breakfast and chat with the other travellers, the husband talked our ears off. A quick hello would have been enough, as we were tired from travelling and just wanted our rooms. The pub down the road was nice, with new managers who were very welcoming.

I had a comfortable night's sleep here, and everything was spotlessly clean with excellent amenities. Jean and Allen were both superb hosts, and breakfast was delicious. WiFi reception was great too. I'd highly recommend this B&B.
