Auchtertyre House

The grounds and views around Auchtertyre are stunning, and there are plenty of walks close by. Tyndrum and Bridge of Orchy are both a short drive away for meals out. We were a multi-generational family group of 12, and the house worked well for all of us. It was spacious, warm, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Everyone was impressed by the house and its setting.

Our group of 11, from 6 to 66, had a wonderful week at Auchtertyre House and would happily return. The house and its grounds are stunning, with breathtaking views, and it was very clean and equipped with everything we needed. Storm Amy arrived just before us and knocked out power in the area for 48 hours. The hosts did all they could to keep us comfortable and warm through it.

The bedrooms were comfortable for a good night's sleep, and the bathrooms had great showers. The kitchen is large, well stocked, and has lots of storage and cooking equipment. The layout also works well for a big group. We recently stayed at this amazing house in a beautiful location, and I'd happily recommend it.

We came for winter hill walking, and the place had plenty of space for boots and drying clothes, even with a large group. Cooking was easy with the excellent kitchen equipment, and the owners were pleasant and easy to reach. We had no issues during our stay. The setting and design really stay with you. Huge windows bring the Scottish landscape into view, even on cloudy, rainy days. The little walks around the grounds lead to waterfalls, especially worth seeing after heavy rain. There's also an old oak draped in thick moss over a waterfall, and rabbits wandered past the windows. We spotted a deer too, though you might need to be lucky or up early. I've stayed in homes around the world, and this one will stick in my memory. 10/10, hard to beat.
