We wished we'd booked a longer stay in Criccieth, and we'll definitely come back. The hotel has a warm, homely feel throughout. We liked relaxing by the reception fireplace on the sofas, and there was a spacious dining room plus a bar with sports on TV. We enjoyed fruit and yogurt followed by a full Welsh breakfast, and the evening meals looked delicious. We had a pleasant evening at the bar and met some lovely locals. Our quirky top-floor room had a lovely view and everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, with good pillows and duvets. The shower was hot and did the job, though the water pressure wasn't great.

Subhro, the Chef at the Lion, was amazing. He recommended the butter chicken, and it was first class. The hotel is in a superb location, and the staff were very helpful. Our room was warm and cosy, and the pillows were so good. For the price, you can't go wrong. Another great stay.

We stayed two nights this week, my wife and I. The location is handy for trips to Caernarfon and the Llyn peninsula. Our room was excellent, and both dinner and breakfast were very good. Every staff member was efficient, polite and exceptionally helpful. The bar had good, inexpensive drinks, and the reception area felt homely and was a nice place to relax.

We got a brilliant price through Booking.com. The food was spot on, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The bar's great for a few pints and relaxing with the football on, and there are nice places to sit near reception. We'll be back very soon!

The food made our New Year stay at the Lion Hotel feel especially personal. During a very busy festive period, the team still found time to put together the authentic Indian meal we’d asked for. Chef Noorshek and Subhro cooked a generous spread of Butter Chicken, Tarka Dal, rice and fresh salad. Everything was seasoned just right and tasted like a lovely home-cooked meal. The whole team treated our request with such warmth and care. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer way to welcome the New Year.
