Coorie Inn Restaurant and Rooms

We booked several rooms while in town for my nephew’s wedding, and Andrew and the team made us feel very welcome. They were accommodating and professional throughout. The food was a real highlight. My asparagus starter came with fermented gooseberries, a new flavour for me, and their sweet, sharp funk worked beautifully with the hollandaise, egg yolk and local asparagus. The beef was wonderfully tender, and I loved the soufflé for dessert. Our room was lovely too, with quality fittings and a comfortable bed. The Coorie Inn is a gem, and I hope to come back, maybe for a christening.

We went to The Coorie Inn on Valentine’s evening and chose the Saturday main menu instead of the Sunday roast people often rave about. It was one of the best meals we’ve had in ages. The pork and black pudding with rhubarb was phenomenal, and the flavours all worked so well together. My duck main was cooked perfectly. Service and atmosphere were faultless, and the food went well beyond what we expected. I ate more of the lovely bread than planned, so didn’t leave room for dessert. Already looking forward to another visit.

We came across this lovely inn by chance while looking at other places nearby, and I’m so glad we did. The atmosphere felt relaxed but confident as soon as we walked in. Dinner and breakfast, including the drinks, were fabulous, and the service was impeccable. Our room was sumptuous, the decor tasteful, and the plants were a delight. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back.

By the fire in the bar, we started with cocktails and olives, then had a clever beef tartare with bone marrow, egg yolk jam and plenty of other well done touches. We both chose fish for the main course, and both portions were cooked perfectly. The sides were essential too, especially those Brussels sprouts everyone was talking about. We’ve never seen sprouts done like that. A perfect soufflé finished the meal. Ask the team about wine, they really know their stuff. Johnny picked a stunning white Rioja for us. Thanks Phil, Andrew and the whole team. We can’t wait to return.
