The mixed fruit crumble and custard was a lovely finish, and the veggie haggis Wellington with mustard mash, roast veg and gravy was delicious too. Both mains were vegan, even though the menu didn’t say so, and there were two vegan starters plus a cheesecake. The staff were lovely and helpful, pointing out which vegetarian dishes could be made vegan. Highly recommend.

The steak frites and macaroni were both outstanding, absolutely stunning. We were passing through on our way to Pitlochry after seeing the reviews, and the staff were so friendly. They even suggested a more scenic route, where we saw the mirror man, Falls of Dochart, some kestrels and grouse. We also got to meet jagar, the wee curly dog.

The spot out back is lovely, with a fab beer garden and great views from the nicely presented rooms. We’ve always had a great time with the food and service, and the staff are happy to cater to our slightly particular children. The area is great and the neighbours are nice :) Would recommend stopping by for a meal, a stay, or just a drink and a catch-up with friends.

Our daughter was given some colouring by the friendly staff, and we got a warm welcome and were shown to our table. We went for food around 5.30pm on a Wednesday during school mid-term with our 4-year-old. Drinks came promptly, but the main courses took an hour, and I had to go to reception to pay because we wanted to get our daughter home to bed. The food was nice, though service was slow and it looked like they were understaffed. The staff stayed friendly and discounted the meal without us asking, as an apology.
