Good food, friendly staff, and an open fire. Dogs are welcome in the bar too.

We came back for a second dinner the very next night. The food was great, and the staff were friendly and quick. It was especially handy that they served later than many places nearby, since my husband was at Troon for the golf and we needed somewhere still serving after 8:30pm. A real find around here.

The steak night deal was great value, two rump steaks and a bottle of wine for £30, and both the presentation and taste were spot on. It felt warm and inviting as soon as we arrived. The owner was attentive and friendly, and my six-year-old grandson was given crayons and paper and enjoyed chatting with her. The staff were lovely too. We had a lovely meal and will definitely be back.
