Pitlessie Inn and Pantry

We had dinner and really enjoyed it. It's a lovely inn, with a very nice restaurant and a good outdoor beer garden where you can relax and take in the views.

The rooms were a real plus at Pitlessie Inn: spacious, spotless, and with a very comfortable bed. The omelette was good too, and the girls working at the bar were welcoming and friendly. But the breakfast room and plates were cold, which made the meal less pleasant. The breakfast charges were hard to understand. We were told it was included, then found out egg dishes cost extra while a full Scottish breakfast didn't. That felt misleading and made no sense. The server also made a strange sarcastic remark when we ordered, asking if we were hungry today. I doubt she'd say that to a man, and it felt unnecessary and unprofessional. The accommodation made for a great stay, but the breakfast pricing and service need work. After I questioned the charges and got a very unprofessional response, I lowered my service rating.

We stopped for one night on our way north. Dinner was good and there was a good menu, and breakfast was excellent. The room was comfortable and nicely presented, with toiletries in the bathroom. The shower and fittings were a little old, but clean and usable.

We picked this place for its proximity to Ladybank golf course and spent two nights here in August. Our room, Phunky Pheasant, was spotless, with a comfy bed and a fabulous shower. The inn felt cosy and welcoming, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. We enjoyed the food at both dinner and breakfast. It's on a main road, though, and traffic can make it a bit noisy. We'd gladly stay again.
