We had such a great time at The Studio over New Year that I wanted to leave an extra review outside Booking. John was a brilliant host, and every detail made the stay feel special, from the warm welcome to the facilities and thoughtful touches. It was comfortable, warm and excellent value, with a breakfast that was especially good. I’d happily return, which I can only say about three or four places I’ve stayed. Falkland itself is quaint, with beautiful walks, a few great shops and a nice pub serving good food. Thanks, John. Nice one.

The ceiling is a skylight looking up at the palace, which was a lovely surprise. Each day we had a breakfast menu, plus coffee or tea and fresh milk in the fridge, and the hosts made sure we had anything we might need. The comfort, friendly welcome and amenities made this the best stay of our whole trip. We were in town for a wedding, and the location by the main part of town was far more than just convenient. They really do take care of the second “b” in “b&b.” If you’re coming to Falkland for any reason, this is the place to stay.

We were only there for two nights, which was a shame because the studio was lovely. It’s tucked behind Maspie House, just off the main street, with a few shops, Campbell's coffee shop and some good restaurants nearby. The room was spacious and nicely equipped. Having a kettle, microwave, small fridge, dishes and cutlery meant we could make a cuppa whenever we liked. Breakfast was wonderful, served when we wanted and enjoyed at the little table in the room. The bed and chairs were comfortable, and the large skylight looked out toward the top of Falkland Palace next door. The bathroom was well laid out and had great water pressure, though watch out if someone flushes the toilet while you’re using it.

The village is peaceful, with three pubs serving good food at reasonable prices. There are lovely walks starting from here, and it’s near St Andrews and the coast, where you can walk parts of the Fife Coastal Path. The owners are friendly and helpful, and breakfast is excellent. The place itself is beautifully sunny, with a garden where you can sit and have a drink. Everything is to a very high standard, in a great spot right next to Falkland Palace.

We’d never stayed in Scotland before, and had such a lovely long weekend. The location was great, the little place was cosy, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great too, and the lovely couple couldn’t have done more for us. Their advice about the area helped us out a lot, and people in the village were friendly as well. Hopefully we’ll see you both again soon 😀
