Rhianfa Cottage

The location and views are beautiful, but we didn't get value for money. There are serious problems the owner and Sykes haven't fixed. The cottage isn't clean and hasn't been properly maintained since its restoration. There's mould in the showers and kitchen cupboards, a gap in the main door, and the upstairs shower doesn't drain properly, leaving water pooled in the tray. Previous reviews have mentioned these problems too, so it's disappointing they remain. The garden is lovely and the hot tub is a nice feature, but the overgrowth makes the facilities hard to use, and the outdoor table and chairs are unusable. Ornaments were very dusty. In the same bedroom, some curtains were blackout and some weren't, making it hard to sleep when it got light at 5 am. The advert says there's an open fire, but it's an electric fire. Sykes customer service has now sat on my complaints for two months, and Melissa is refusing to respond. I'll pursue a chargeback through my credit card company. I'd seriously ask Sykes whether this property should stay advertised until the issues are sorted. Avoid!
