The wildlife made the walk especially lovely: we spotted a Barn Owl hunting just up the lane, a Hare, and loads of Bats. Inside, I loved the wildlife pictures on the walls, a thoughtful touch from someone with a real eye for decor. The cottage itself is very nice, with plenty of good facilities and everything to hand. It’s peaceful but still not far from Ashbourne and Derby. The owner gave us a warm welcome, then left us to enjoy the place, which suited us well. I’d definitely go back.

That view was wonderful, and the house was so nicely decorated. My family and I have stayed here a couple of times, always after making the trip from Germany, so we were pretty worn out by the time we arrived. The owners are lovely and were always up for a chat when we saw them. We’ve had a really pleasant stay each time, a brilliant place to stay! 😃

I haven’t stayed here, but I asked for directions last week and the farmer was incredibly helpful, a really nice bloke. The location is lovely too. I’m sure he’d provide very nice accommodation. Thanks for the help, Mr farmer.
