Balmoral Guest House

I never ended up staying, but I was looking for somewhere near the hospital. While we waited to hear from the hospital, the proprietor kindly pencilled in a room for us. I didn't need it in the end, but he was incredibly helpful when we were going through a difficult time. Thank you, sir.

I stayed in one of their long-let rooms, and the owners are lovely. The place is amazing. It's so clean, they always come when expected to change the bed linen and collect the laundry, and when I told them the fridge wasn't working, they replaced it the very next day. Andrew was even kind enough to drop me at the train station and right to the platform. I highly recommend them ❤️

The rooms were clean and nice, and the host was friendly, though we missed breakfast. The location is great. Our room had uncovered skylights, which meant a very early wake-up in summer, so I wouldn't stay here again.

We slept incredibly well in this characterful old house. The furnishings are older, but everything was very clean and had a homely feel. The owner gave us a warm welcome, offered to carry our bags, showed us the parking and gave us a tour, so we felt at home straight away. Breakfast was included and really good, with excellent food and table service. I'd definitely come back when I'm in Darlington.
