The Grey Horse

The comfy bed, easy parking and good location were definite pluses. A small suggestion for the owner: a sign by the shower pull cord outside the bathroom would help. I haven't come across those in the places I've lived or travelled, so it took me a while to work it out. The Wi-Fi was down for our whole stay, which wasn't their fault, but we had been counting on it. The sound insulation is poor too. The bar music was so loud we couldn't hear the bartender during check-in, though thankfully it stopped at 11:30.

The room was clean and spacious, and the staff member who welcomed us was polite and pleasant. For our two-day stay there wasn't enough milk and coffee. The only other fault was a dangerous cable to the lamp, even though it had been PAT tested, so I'm not sure how that happened. Still, it was a good stay overall.

Nothing fancy in the decor, just a normal old-school local pub with a warm, friendly feel.

The beds are really comfortable, and it's affordable, so I'd stay again. The room was clean, had Netflix access and a large shower. I took half a star off because there was no food on site, which I kind of expected from a pub, and another half because the walls are a bit thin.
