The house was filthy, with revolting floors, a dirty kitchen, and unbearable cigarette smoke. Dog poo was in the back, and the washing machine barely worked. There were only two forks, a few spoons, and a couple of glasses. The beds needed new mattresses, and the pillows were so worn they were under 3 cm thick. The stairs made alarming sounds whenever anyone went up or down, and I kept expecting them to collapse. The front door had already been bashed in from outside. It was wooden, with the most basic kind of lock, and the fire alarm didn’t work. While we were there, a removal notice came through the letterbox. This place was a dump, not fit for animals. Don’t stay here, it’s not worth it.
