You can hear owls at night, and the apartment stays quiet. It’s right by the water and coast path, in a perfect spot. Stylish place, with useful tips about nearby places to eat and things to do.

I’ve stayed in this roomy, comfortable duplex several times during the quieter months. Though really, the Dart and Devon never feel fully out of season. I do miss the big leather settee. The walk from the Pottery into Dartmouth is always a pleasure.

Watch out if you leave through the back entrance. The button beside that door sets off the fire alarm instead of unlocking it, unlike the button at the front. The emergency number posted on the wall reaches a very sleepy man who doesn’t know what you’re talking about.
