The room was spotless, with fresh bedding and soft towels, and the staff were super friendly. The mattress, though, was lumpy, and I could feel the springs leaving marks. There weren’t many feathers left in the pillows either. A good mattress matters a lot to me, and if you can sleep on anything, you’ll probably be fine. Worn decor, like polystyrene tiles and holes in the walls, matters less to me than a bad bed. Still, you get what you pay for. I’d stay again, for sure, but I’d do more drinking next time so I could sleep.

The continental breakfast had lots to choose from and everything was fresh. But my booking email said breakfast was included in the room price, then I was asked to pay an extra £6. I know it isn’t much, but that needs to be made clear. The rooms were a bit dated but very clean, and the staff were really friendly. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable, so I hardly slept.

It’s a lovely building, which makes it a shame that the place feels neglected. The decor is horribly dated, and inside it was quite dirty and dusty.
