The food was lovely, so we’ll probably come back since we’re local. We visited with friends, but the service dragged even though the place wasn’t busy and there seemed to be plenty of staff. We had to ask for menus and for more drinks, and three items on the menu weren’t available, which was disappointing. The menu itself is a little limited and eclectic, with a small tapas selection alongside a few more traditional dishes. I’d like to see a bit more choice.

The room was in a really poor state. The bed had clean sheets, but there was no shower, the bathroom smelled musty, and I found silver fish there. My daughter also tripped on badly fitted carpet. I won’t be back. The two stars are for the lovely-looking exterior and the genuinely friendly staff. Breakfast was just OK, enough to fill a hole. The location was great, and I have a video of the silver fish but can’t upload it.

The location worked really well for my trip to Hansons auction house up the road, and the staff were friendly. It’s a welcoming, busy family pub and restaurant, and the Sunday roast was lush. The building is old, so don’t expect five-star rooms: there’s no double glazing, the main road gets noisy early, and there isn’t much space to spread out. Still, the room was clean, the bed was comfy and the basics were covered. The price was very good, breakfast was good too, and everything I needed for a nice stay was there. I’d definitely stay again.

The plates being cold was the only little letdown, since the food cooled off quickly. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our first Sunday carvery visit. The food was excellent and the staff were excellent too. We’ll definitely be back.

The food was outstanding, and the staff did a fantastic job all day. My son’s wedding was held at Hilton House Hotel, and it was a memorable day in a great location. We couldn’t have wished for anything better. Attentive staff and exceptional food made it hard to find fault with the venue. I can’t praise the team enough and look forward to dining there again. Keep up the good work.
