Brackfield House was a great base for our trip to the Dambo Trolls in the Sperrin Mountains. Derry is close, but the house sits in peaceful countryside, so you get both. There are good places to eat a short drive away, and David has plenty of local history to share, including the story of his own family and Killaloo. Leave time to explore the area, Derry, and the Sperrins. We stayed in the main house. The room was spacious and quiet, the bed was comfortable, and David was a pleasure to talk with. After checking in, we drove out for dinner. We only planned a short visit, but next time we'd stay longer. It was one of the highlights of our holiday. I also left my passport and a few hundred Euros in the room when we checked out. A day or two later, while searching the rental car, David called to say he'd found them hanging on a hook beneath a bathrobe. We hadn't gone far, so we collected everything by taking a different route through Glenveagh National Park, then spent some more time sightseeing in Derry. My major blunder ended up giving us a lovely day out. Thank you!
