We had a brilliant time at this hotel, and all the staff were amazing. On arrival, we got free underground parking, which was a big bonus. A cheerful receptionist welcomed us, let us leave our bags, and explained how to find the Derry girls mural. She also suggested a nice lunch spot, which was great. After walking the wall, we came back and I mentioned to another receptionist that we’d dropped off our bags and checked in earlier but hadn’t received a room key. Then came a lovely surprise. The first receptionist, Caoimhe, had upgraded us to the Erin Suite for our third wedding anniversary. There were chocolates in the room too, along with a lovely note.

We had dinner in the bar and breakfast in the restaurant the next morning. The food was very good, and I was impressed by the breakfast spread. The staff were all good at their jobs and couldn’t do enough for us. Our executive room was worth the extra cost, with lots of space, a big clean room, and a massive, very comfortable bed. The view of the peace bridge and guild hall was fabulous. It’s also great to find a city-centre hotel with its own private car park. Everything about the stay was brilliant. I’d highly recommend it, and can’t wait to return.

We wished we’d had more time to explore the walled city. Maldron Hotel Derry is a hidden gem near the town diamond, with iconic bars just a short walk away if you’re after a pub crawl and Trad music. Parking at the hotel was limited, but there are car parks nearby. The staff were courteous and helpful throughout. Shannon at the front desk was especially kind and knew the area well. Our clean, well-equipped room and the facilities suited us, and we slept well. It was a little too warm for our taste, though it was a warm day. We had a wonderful dinner at the on-site restaurant on arrival and a nightcap at the bar. The complimentary full Irish and English breakfast was a pleasant surprise, with pastries, yoghurt, fruit, and even a Nutella pump. What more could you ask for, LOL!

The staff were genuinely nice and extremely helpful, and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the bar food, and breakfast was great too 👍. I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of staying in Derry.

I had my wedding reception here on 29th January 26, and the service was outstanding from the day we booked until we left after our stay. The food on the day was amazing, and everyone was catered for. Chiree was wonderful to deal with and steered me in the right direction whenever I wasn’t sure what to do. Caoimhe at Reception was brilliant at accommodating all the guests and was very pleasant. I’d highly recommend staying here, and to any future brides and grooms, booking your wedding here.
