I had several hotels booked in Northern Ireland for a November trip, but had to cancel them all. Booking.com promptly refunded two reservations, but I still haven't received my money back for this one. The Snug at Clarence requires a prepayment by credit card to make a reservation, with the remaining balance due 14 days before arrival, and says cancellation is free until then. I've emailed the establishment repeatedly without a reply. I was told the manager had quit in late March for some reason and was asked to contact the owner, Booking.com and reservations. I've sent messages to every address I was given several times, with no response. Booking.com also says it can't get a reply from them. I called Booking.com for help, but still haven't got the refund. If you want the runaround over a prepayment after cancelling, this is the place. I would never book here again and want people to be wary. The rave reviews don't match my experience.

Lovely accommodation, friendly staff, and a great location. Good value for money too.

We loved the decor, and the kitchen and location were both very good. Snug really does fit the place. The bathroom was okay, though it could use more shelf space. My main complaint came on our last day: my daughter couldn't get hot water for a shower soon after I'd had mine, and I hadn't taken long. It may be fixable, but it was disappointing when everything else had been so good.
