Torrent Walk Bunkhouse

The pitches are laid out nicely, with a hill option for more privacy or a field spot closer to the toilets. The facilities have always been warm and clean when I’ve stayed, and they add extra showers on busy days. This time my pitch was a bit waterlogged, but they were happy to move me somewhere more suitable. The woman I spoke with was welcoming, and the self check-in works really well, with the office there if you need help. I only spotted the bike jet wash after packing up, so I’m not sure it works, but I’ll give it a go next time. There’s also a Starbucks and a well-stocked petrol station about a minute down the country lane, which is handy. I’ve stayed a couple of times now and it’s been a great place each time.

The location is ideal for people who love the outdoors, and we’ve been really pleased with the site and accommodation. We were given the stay for our anniversary and have been delighted with it so far. Staff were friendly and helpful from check-in onwards. When we realised the gas bottle for the hot water was empty, they sorted it within minutes of us mentioning it. Everything is very clean and well looked after. We’ll certainly come back and recommend it to friends and family.

The receptionist was happy to let me switch pitches, which I really appreciated. It’s a peaceful, tucked-away site, so you do feel away from the usual bustle. The facilities were fine, though a few little fixes would help: hooks on the backs of the toilet doors for coats, and replacement for the missing or broken shower hooks. Those things didn’t spoil our stay, and we had a pleasant time. We’d happily return.

A nice spot for a stopover or as a base for hiking nearby, with pleasant surroundings and a lovely drive in. It seems to be a working farm, mostly with horses. The grass pitches are just big enough and have hookups; a small levelling block might be useful on some, but nothing too serious. The toilets and showers were clean, functional and good. Overall, good value.
