Best Western Premier Doncaster Mount Pleasant Hotel

We went back for Sunday dinner on our 20th wedding anniversary, having been married here. The service and food were great, and everything was first-rate. At £34 a head for what we got, the price was very good. We'll definitely be back.

We haven't stayed anywhere this nice in a long time. The hotel was lovely and affordable, with huge rooms, really comfy beds and a lovely breakfast. We'd definitely come back. Five stars!

If you need a bed in the area, this is a really nice option for the price. You'll be comfortable and well fed. We didn't expect much from a chain hotel beside a bypass near Doncaster, but it surprised us. The spacious rooms were well furnished, with quirky pieces that made the place feel individual rather than like a corporate buying department had furnished it. The bistro menu is fairly predictable pub grub, but the dishes are well executed. For steak or a Barnsley chop, the meat was good and cooked well. The wine list was interesting and well priced, with familiar pub favourites plus Georgian and Uruguayan wines. The Uruguayan one was excellent, the Georgian one less so. My one disappointment was the lack of real ale at the bar. In a part of the country with some of the very best, that felt a bit sad. Still, I suppose they can't be expected to stock it if their customers don't want to buy it.

We spent Valentine's weekend here and had a lovely time. The room was nice, the food was brilliant, and the staff and service were great. We'll be back.
