Primelodge Doncaster

The council offered me this accommodation because I was homeless. This evening, a new receptionist apparently decided for no reason to make false accusations against me and have me thrown out onto the street. The government funded police force took the business’s side without question and even acted as a taxi to my new home on the pavement.

The staff were friendly, but the room put us off: it was small, and the walls and floor were dirty. We didn’t check in after seeing it.

The staff were helpful and the bed was comfortable. Rooms were okay, and it took just over 10 minutes to walk into Doncaster. It’s a fairly basic hotel, as you’d expect from a budget place.

The bed was comfortable for me, though my mate didn’t sleep well at all. We only needed somewhere to sleep for one night, and for that it did the job. But there were what looked like blood splatters on the wall under the TV, a coffee stain beneath the table, and the floors needed a proper clean and polish. I didn’t use the shower, so can’t comment on it. I did have to scrape an inch of limescale out of the kettle before making a drink. At least they had proper mugs, not those tiny teacups that barely hold a mouthful of coffee. We were on the ground floor facing the car park, so had to keep the curtains closed for privacy, as there are no blinds. The continental breakfast was about what you’d expect for the extra £2.50: cheap white bread, small boxes of cereal, which were at least Kellogg’s, and cheap breakfast buns. If you want quality, this isn’t the place. But what do you expect for £35 each for one night?
