The canal walk through the countryside to the nearby village was lovely, and I’d recommend it. We also really enjoyed the sauna and BBQ hut, and had treatments on Saturday that I highly recommend. Our stay in Owl Lodge was beautiful, with every little detail feeling thoughtfully done. Ronnie was available to answer questions and was very helpful. We felt welcome throughout this amazing, relaxing stay. I’ll definitely return to Hawthorn Hideaway, and recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful, romantic reset.

We booked a few extras that made the stay even nicer: Prosecco on arrival, a BBQ pack and afternoon tea. They were all lovely, and the afternoon tea was especially superb, highly recommended. The cabin itself was beautiful and had everything you could need, plus a lovely welcome pack waiting for us. It’s a wonderful, truly relaxing place where they’ve thought of everything. If you’re looking to unwind, you won’t go wrong here.

The little daily visits from the chickens were a lovely part of the week. We enjoyed watching them scratch about in the soil and twigs. Each evening, we sat in the chairs beside the canal to watch the sunsets, with sheep and lambs in the background. There were also lovely walks along the canal to the nearby town of Miserton, where we went to the local butchers and got fish and chips from the chippy. We took a short drive to Yorkshire wildlife park halfway through the stay and spent a brilliant day there. We stayed in Swan Lodge for our honeymoon last week and had the most perfect time, just the two of us, with lovely weather and no worries. The lodge had a just married sign and a decoration package with flowers, petals, banners and balloons, all beautifully arranged when we arrived. We instantly felt relaxed and ready for the time away together. The breakfast hamper was delicious and had everything we liked. We spent relaxing evenings in the Dome and hot tub, and sat by the outdoor fire pit to toast marshmallows and watch the world go by. I’d highly recommend staying here for a few restful days and time to yourselves.

Everything felt well run, and the service was top class. Our weekend at the beautiful hawthorn hideaway was such an amazing, comfortable experience, set up perfectly for a romantic break. It was a great chance to get away from the bustle of everyday life. We’ll definitely be back.

We had the full experience on a two night stay in the long boat, and it was wonderful from the moment we arrived until we left. Josephine and Ronnie made us feel welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed the hot tub, stargazing and cinema in the dome, along with the extra use of the sauna and steam room. There was also a lovely walk along the canal to Misserton. Highly recommend it, and we’ll be back for sure. Jeanette and Lee xx
