The Duke William

The rooms at the back of the pub were perfectly fine and had what we needed. The owner and staff made our group of work colleagues feel very welcome. They even arranged a delicious meal for us on a night when they hadn't planned to open. It's a really good option in an area with lovely scenery and history.

A good hotel and bar if you're fishing around here. The rooms are very nice and there's good parking. Sue looked after us well at meal times. Drinks selection was good and so was the restaurant menu. I'd definitely recommend it. Thanks.

The Duke burger with cheesy chips was amazing, and watching my wife's sirloin steak arrive had my mouth watering. The menu has plenty of variety, and the place itself is beautiful. Service took a little while because it was busy, which was understandable. They focus on making excellent food rather than fast food, and our server kept a close eye on our glasses. We wanted to show our support after hearing about negative online comments from people who hadn't even visited. The food was excellent, and we'll be back. We'd like to book a room next time too.

It was my first stay at the Duke William and the friendly service made a great impression. The room was spotless and had useful facilities, including a microwave, toaster, fridge and kettle, plus tea, coffee and milk. The Sunday carvery was delicious, and all the staff were so helpful and friendly. I'd definitely recommend it.
