Sunday Box Hill Burford Bridge Hotel

Our first holiday as a couple was a weekend away, and the staff made it really special from the moment we arrived. The room was clean and had everything we could want, and the food was 10/10. It’s a very good price too. There’s a heated pool, with lovely staff who have a laugh with you before you go in. At the restaurant, Mary and santos were such accommodating hosts. They made us laugh and made sure we had everything we needed and more. There’s a lovely hike just around the corner. I’d rate the place 10/10 and would 1000% go again :)

The food was very good, and service was pleasant. The bar and lounge are really comfy, and it’s a great spot for a family day out, with Boxhill and other beautiful places to see nearby. I had a wonderful time at the hotel and restaurant, and I’ll definitely return. Cheers to the new bar Tipsy Rabbit, which I heard about from the waitress.

The food and drinks were a real highlight. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, nicely presented and made with great quality ingredients. Service in the restaurant and bar was attentive without being intrusive. My room was clean, comfortable and well maintained, and I slept well. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful, and the staff were warm, welcoming and always happy to help. Their friendliness and professionalism made a difference and gave the hotel a personal touch. I had a wonderful stay at the Burford Bridge Hotel and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I’d happily return. Highly recommended for comfort, great service and excellent food.

I wish I hadn’t bothered. I was there for a friend’s event and wouldn’t recommend the place, which is a shame because the area is beautiful. The room had dirty cotton buds on the floor in a very visible spot, an oily substance on the bathroom counter, and mould on the bathroom tiles. I don’t mean the grout or sealant, which can be hard to keep under control. There was no reception number advertised, and the booking agent said check-in was automatic. I got two emails with different room numbers and door codes. A receptionist was there when we arrived, but he seemed more interested in his phone. Breakfast staff weren’t helpful, so we had to guess where to sit and how food and drinks worked. The breakfast itself was very average. We were rushing out and I left my necklace behind. After finally finding a number to call, I was told they’d check with housekeeping and get back to me. They never did. I called again and got the same answer, and was told there was nothing at reception. I still heard nothing. I’m not confident the necklace was looked for, since the person I spoke to kept getting my room number and dates wrong. If housekeeping missed cotton buds in the middle of the floor, would they have found my necklace? I didn’t complain about the room at the time because the person at reception made it unpleasant to deal with them, so we put up with it for one night. I was also told parking would be complimentary because I’d logged my car on the system. They couldn’t tell me when I needed to move the car, though, so I’m not convinced and am waiting to see if a ticket arrives.
