We love that The Eagle Hotel was open on the 1st of January. Having somewhere warm, friendly and dependable for a proper meal so early in the new year made a real difference. The Christmas dinner was delicious too, and made the celebrations feel extra special. Every meal we've had here has been brilliant, with generous portions and real care given to the food. The timing between courses is just right, so you don't feel rushed or left waiting. The kids enjoy eating here as well. The staff are always welcoming, friendly and attentive, and make us feel comfortable as soon as we arrive. The value is fantastic for the quality of both food and service. We'll happily keep coming back.

I had a fantastic roast at the eagle yesterday while visiting Dornoch for a few days. I chose chicken, and my friend, who lives in Dornoch, had the beef. Both were absolutely fabulous. The new managers, Ross and Kirsty, were so pleasant and couldn't do enough for us. How lovely.

There were 15 of us, and after a weekend at Embo we picked the Eagle restaurant for our farewell meal. It was a brilliant choice. The menu had lots of options, the location was great and the service outstanding. Between us we chose around eight or nine different starters and mains, and everything was totally delicious.

The food was freshly made and delicious, and the full Scottish breakfast set us up well for the day. We were greeted with a smile and a friendly word, picked up our keys and found a room we were very happy with. It had comfortable twin beds, a TV, hairdryer, tea-making facilities, a wardrobe and a lovely updated bathroom with a shower. The pub gets very busy and can be noisy, but our room was at the back and it wasn't a problem for us. The only drawback was the lack of hotel parking, though there was parking not far away. Thanks for making our stay so comfortable. What a lovely hotel.

Just stopped in for a pint and a sunny seat, then checked the menu and decided to eat. The burger and chips hit the spot. Friendly staff, a cracking pint and good pub grub. I'd stop by again if I were in the area.
