Clare House

Stella is so friendly, and we had a good time during our four-night stay. We were surprised to find a shower and toilet in the top room when we arrived, which was nice. If you're driving, there's always a space to find. It's such a happy find, and we'll definitely come back next year. Too bad I can't give it five stars.

The house lady was friendly, accommodating and easy to talk to. The location and service were excellent, close to the train station and an easy walk into Dover centre. The rooms were spacious and very clean, but the beds were a bit uncomfortable and squeaked a lot. The white curtains let in all the light, so in summer it was impossible to go to bed before sunset. Bathrooms were large and had hot water, though the water pressure was low. There was tea and coffee in the room and a small TV. Wi-Fi was available but struggled to reach the top floor.

The lady was lovely and helpful, and the room was clean, cosy and nice. The bathroom was small, but for a one-night stay it was just right. It's about a five-minute walk from Dover train station. At £40 a night for two people, it was great value.

Stella was very welcoming, friendly and helpful throughout our stay at Clare's House. The room looked just like the online photos and was well kept and homely. My partner and I would definitely recommend it for a comfortable, enjoyable stay in Dover.
